Macarooni in mushroom sauce

Yet another recipe that has been inspired by Nigella Lawson. Its simple, mouth watering delicious and so comforting!
Its perfect for a cold winter day, when the sun has hidden behind the clouds. Very few ingredients are required, though its lengthy do not be let down the time it requires, the actual recipe is super easy.



White sauce
1/2 cup. Cheddar cheese
2 tsp. butter
1 tsp. oil
400 gms mushroom( sliced)
2 tsp finely chopped garlic
1/4 tsp oregano
1/4 tsp basil
Salt to taste
Red chilli powder to taste
200 gms. Macaroni elbows

How to make it
Melt the butter and oil in a wide non stick pan. Add the mushrooms and garlic, and sauté on medium flame till golden brown.( the mushrooms will initially release their water, and then they will shrink!). Add in oregano, basil, salt and the red chilli powder
Cook the macaroni as instructed on the pack and keep side. (Add a teaspoon of oil in the water to avoid sticky macaroni, and do not overcook the macaroni) the macaroni should be left slightly uncooked.
Heat the white sauce and add in the cheese, mix well till the cheese dissolves!
Now mix the macaroni, cheesy white sauce and sautéed mushrooms together, and transfer to an oven proof dish and bake at 180° C for 10 minutes!
Serve hot!
