Mushroom on toast

These are an absolute favourite in my family! Everyone loves them..even my lil sis who otherwise hates mushrooms in any other form! They are healthy and packed with flavour! And the best part about them is that you can prepare the mushroom mix the night before, and in the morning all you need to do is spread it over slices and pop them in the oven! Super Yum:)😊



White sauce
1/4 cup. Cheddar cheese
2 tsp. butter
1 tsp. oil
400 gms mushroom( sliced)
1/4 tsp oregano
1/4 tsp basil
Salt to taste
Red chilli powder to taste
8 slices of any bread

How to make it
Melt the butter and oil in a wide non stick pan. Add the mushrooms and sauté on medium flame till golden brown.( the mushrooms will initially release their water, and then they will shrink!). Add in oregano, basil, salt and the red chilli powder.
Heat the white sauce and add in the cheese, mix well till the cheese dissolves!
Add the sauce to the mushrooms.
Spread on slices of bread and bake in an oven at 200°C for 5 minutes or till a golden brown crust forms on top!

Tip: line the baking tray with aluminium foil, saves any burning of the slices or of any spilloff!
