Cream Espresso

Taking your simple espresso a notch higher is all about playing with different textures of milk…steamed or boiled, the proportion of milk used, adding flavoured liquids or as a matter of fact cream!
The options available to alter a simple espresso shot are endless, and almost all cafés have a signature coffee!
I don’t have any signature coffee as yet…but I do play around with my espresso quite a lot..
My latest experiment….Cream Espresso!
Its a simple espresso topped with vanilla cream!
Nothing extravagant ..but believe me it yields one great cup.


Serves 2 cups
4 shots of espresso
1/2 cup boiling water
3 tsp sugar
1/3 cup cream
1/3 cup milk
2-3 drops of vanilla extract


How to make it
Warm the coffee cups by pouring some hot water into them.
Whip together the cream, milk and vanilla extract till u get a thick pouring consistency…it should be airy but liquid enough so that it can be poured.
In a large pitcher mix the coffee, water and sugar.
Empty the cups and add the coffee.
Now keep a poon on top of the coffee horizontally, and pour the cream on top.
(Keeping the spoon prevents the cream from penetrating through the coffee surface, and so it accumulates on top)
Serve immediatly!.
