Yes, its been over 3 months since my last post, and I must say I have been really really busy. first it was my Post graduation exams, then some whitewash at home followed by some guests… Phewww.. I had to take a break!!
I have finally coaxed myself into writing this post. I have several unfinished posts lined up to be published, but rather than completing those, I have chosen to share with you pics of my Bday Bash that I catered myself.
It was a FRIENDS (TV serial) themed party. With the theme colours being yellow and purple( after the iconic door of Monica’s Flat).
The invite I sent out I drew up on my iPad and looked something like this!
The menu for the party was:
- Strawberry Frappe
- Nutella Choco-chip cups
- Pizza Cupcakes
- Hummus Platter- with Pita Chips, Bread sticks, carrot sticks and Cucumber sticks
- Veg Lasagna
- Bread Rolls
- Pasta Salad
- Watermelon Salad
- Ferrero brownie Bites
- Peanut butter Choco pops
- Mango Cheesecake
- Lemon-blueberry cake
The entire menu was designed keeping in view the theme and as the FRIENDS spent most of their time at Central Perk, the dishes were either cafe style or Italian to keep with Monica’s love of italian cooking! And yes I almost forgot… the entire menu was 100% eggless and pure vegetarian!
I handmade some organza flower broaches in purple and yellow and handed them out to all the guests.
The decor was yellow flowers arranged in different bouquets & yellow and purple balloons.
The highlight of the party (apart from the food) was the photo booth me n my sis had set up. It was a fun activity that had everybody turning into a child again.
And…Oh… Did I mention? Me & my younger sis share our birthday even though we are not twins…cool isn’t it!
So it was a party with around 25 guests and yes … we danced, played games, indulged in some gossiping and most important we enjoyed a lot.
Here is a sneak peak into our fun filled photo-booth pics…
PS: recipes of some of the dishes are already up on the blog, below are the links to them. I will try and post the rest of the recipes up soon…
Please drop by a comment on what you think of the menu! I would love to hear what you guys have to say!
